Discover Kenya: Nairobi, Amboseli, Lake Nakuru, and Maasai Mara.

1. 7 Days/6 Nights
Covering some of the most appealing and amazing parks in Kenya over the course of seven (7) days, participants are treated to the Kilimanjaro-boasting Amboseli National Park – overflowing with elephants, giraffe, cheetah, zebra, and wildebeest. Other amazing destinations include the rhinos and flamingos of Lake Nakuru National Park, the geological wonderment of the Great Rift Valley as well as the unfettered culture of the Maasai Mara and its epic kaleidoscope of wildlife species – zebra, antelope, buffalo, wildebeest, hyena, etc.
Proposed Itinerary
Day One: Preparation for Safari: Volunteers prepare for the safari – picked up from their respective host families/hostels.
Day Two & Three: Amboseli National Park: For the duration of these two days, participants will reside in accommodations arranged and approved by Youth Hostels Tours and Volunteers, where breakfast, lunch & dinner will be available. The day’s safari will begin with a drive to Amboseli National Park near Kilimanjaro – jutting skyward and dominating the horizon with its glorious peak reaching approximately 19,340 feet. The afternoon unfolds – treating participants to numerous wildlife-viewing opportunities, including: the area’s massive elephant population as well as giraffe lions and cheetahs. The wildlife experience continues the next morning as participants are treated to even more of Amboseli National Park’s wonderment – zebra and wildebeest run amok as the safari continues into the afternoon and early evening.
Day Four: Lake Nakuru: After breakfast, participants will travel to Thompson Falls, followed by a descent to the floor of the daunting Rift Valley and onto Lake Nakuru National Park. The remainder of the day will consist of exploring the wonderful diversity of birds as well as opportunities to observe Lake Nakuru’s famed population of rhinoceros, leopards and flamingo. Breakfast, lunch and dinner provided.
Day Five & Six: Maasai Mara Game Reserve: For the duration of these two days, participants will reside in accommodations arranged and approved by Youth Hostels Tours and Volunteers where breakfast, lunch & dinner will be available. This particular stretch of the tour – guaranteed to supply lasting memories – explores the enchanting, awe-inspiring land of the world-renowned Maasai – a cattle-herding culture still defiantly untouched by the trappings of the western world. This stretch of the journey will commence in a grand finale at the Maasai Mara – an amazing park brimming with Kenya's most concentrated, most diverse examples of wildlife. Within the realm of the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, multiple safaris provide opportunities to observe Africa’s largest pride of lions as well as herds-upon-herds of zebra and antelope, buffalo, wildebeest, giraffe, cheetah and hyena.
Day Seven: Maasai Mara/Nairobi: Participants awake for an early morning game drive, followed by breakfast. Here, participants say their good-byes and express their gratitude to their guides before being escorted back to their respective project locations. Breakfast, lunch and dinner provided.
NOTE: This is a sample itinerary and may be altered to accommodate changes in field conditions.

Want Overseas Experience? Then put yourself in the picture with Kenya Youth Hostels Association Volunteers. Ethics. We strive. >To promote quality awareness, socially responsible and environmentally sound tourism for young people and families. >To keep human relations as a focal point. >To live up to the idea of partnership at all levels. >To strengthen our image and standing us the most important tourist organization for young people and families. >To achieve appropriate commercial results which will ensure the continuation of our organization? Volunteer in Kenya Program Locations The essence of youth is energy directed towards change! Youth Volunteers are very important to our aging population. Old people brighten up and respond positively to the young ones, when a story is shared about a service volunteer project that has been carried out successfully within the country or in a foreign land. Why should young people volunteer? Self – satisfaction after giving time, efforts and energy to be of service to the elderly and community at large. Also the supervisor at your volunteer work station will allow the volunteer to submit their name as a reference when applying for jobs. And when completing those employment applications as it makes positive impressions to the interviewer when the application shows the potential employee was a youth volunteer. Youth Volunteers are a ray of sunshine to our communities especially to the aging population. Kenya Youth Hostels Association Ralph Bunche Road, near Nairobi Hospital P.O.
